Snowshoe chair (2010)
This easy chair was designed for The Cabinetmakers’ Autumn Exhibition “Whiteout”.
The design has references to both the nordic cabinetmakers classic chairs from the 1950-60ies, but also the Wiener bentwood chair which Thonet have perfected for many years.
The chair’s challenge is the two bent poles that form the backrest.
Prototype made of bleeched and soaptreated ash. Ring made with ash bendwood.
Textile of white horsehair designed and woven by designer Jacob Bille.
Prototype made at Danish Art Workshops.
